One Story is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit devoted to promoting short stories and supporting the authors who write them. Our magazines, One Story and One Teen Story, feature one great short story mailed to subscribers every three weeks, allowing readers to experience each story as a stand-alone work of art. Since launching in 2002 we have grown to over 15,000 subscribers.

One Story is a subscription only publication. It is available in print, on Amazon Kindle, and on the Apple Newsstand. Print subscriptions are $21 for 15 issues (within the U.S.). The first two issues are free and, if after receiving your two trial issues, you don’t want to continue receiving One Story, we’ll cancel your subscription free of charge. Between September and June, all writers can submit their work to One Story online through our Submission Manager. One Story does not accept paper submissions. One Story publishes writers only once, so we are always looking for exciting new voices.
