Robert Giroux, 1914-2008

The great Robert Giroux passed away on Friday, at age 94. Best known as the third leg of Farrar, Straus & Giroux, he also discovered and published some of the most important short story writers of the past century, including Flannery O’Connor, Bernard Malamud, Grace Paley, Donald Barthelme and Isaac Bashevis Singer.
