One Day Halloween Writing Class
Saturday, October 26th, 2013
Welcome to Green-Wood Cemetery: Brooklyn’s largest National Historic Landmark! In this site-specific creative writing class, One Story’s Editor-in-Chief Hannah Tinti will introduce you to 478 beautiful acres filled with gothic architecture, American history, and over half a million interred. There are infinite stories waiting to be unearthed from Green-Wood’s rolling and varied landscape, filled with statues, mausoleums, 150-year-old trees, and monuments to some of the past’s greatest characters.
This class will include a short guided tour of Green-Wood’s highlights, a craft lecture delivered by Hannah Tinti on how to improve your writing; and a series of on-the-spot writing exercises that will bring your characters, plots, descriptions, and settings back from the dead. COME PREPARED TO WRITE! Bring pen, notebook and/or your favorite digital writing device. You will also have a chance to share your work with the rest of the class with a reading in Green-Wood chapel. This event includes a 30 minute walking tour. If you have any mobility or comfort concerns, please contact Michael Pollock at .
